How to Identify a Legit Online Review Class?

A success in an examination depends on the preparation an individual has done for it. Taking an examination is no joke. As an examinee, it is your responsibility to know the coverage of an examination, spend hours reviewing, and doing practice exams to be familiar with the exam. Time is very important in reviewing.

When taking an English proficiency examination such like the IELTS or the International English Language Testing System examination, it is recommended to every candidate to take reviews seriously. A number of examinees who have not taken any review classes for the IELTS have shown a very poor rating in their exams. The weight of reaching the targeted overall band score is important as people who take the IELTS are individuals who are applying for a visa in English speaking countries. To avoid, retaking the examination, IELTS reviews are available and what makes it better is that online reviews has already become a demand.

IELTS reviews have already been proven to help candidates for the test do better during the exam. The reviews cover all necessary information one must know about the IELTS. It also includes classroom discussions and practices to expose students on how the IELTS exam is done. With online IELTS review, reviewing has never been convenient since students can study right in their own homes. However, some people are skeptical about this. Their major concern is the legitimacy of the online review. How can one identify a legitimate online IELTS review class?

First, an online IELTS review class should be a registered business in your country. Check their websites for business addresses and contact personnel. Visit their branches and inquire about their online IELTS review. Businesses that are legitimate have at least their home office to accommodate inquiries from customers.

Another thing to identify whether the online IELTS review class is legitimate when they give official receipts upon payment of fees. An official receipt means they are registered and are taxed by the government. Hence, always ask for a receipt when paying.

Online classes are considered legit when they offer a flexible schedule to their students. People opt having online review classes because of busy schedules or the proximity of a review center to one’s workplace or home. When schedules are flexible, students can easily attend classes in their most convenient time. Further, classes are legit when teachers use manuals and books that are commonly used in IELTS review. These manuals or workbooks should be constantly updated as to ensure the quality of training one gets in the IELTS.

A known name in the industry makes an online review class legitimate. Existing review centers that stared offering online review classes are to be trusted. These review centers have already established a name in their industry; hence, students are rest assured that the education and training they are getting online is the same or even better with online review classes.

Online review classes could be pretty costly. This is the reason why students should be more careful in choosing an online review class for the IELTS. No matter how expensive or cheap an online review class is, the student should never compromise the quality and legitimacy of the review center.

Steps On How To Register for IELTS UKVI

It has been recently announced that non-United Kingdom residents who are applying for a UK visa have to take the IELTS UKVI or the International English Language Testing System examination – United Kingdom Visas and Immigration. The said change has been made to better provide services to visa applicants. There are speculations that the examination is difficult and takes longer to complete compared to the usual IELTS test. However, these are not true.

The IELTS UKVI is basically the same with the usual IELTS examination. The difference one can observe is that the IELTS UKVI can only be taken in test centers that are authorized by the UKVI. In the Philippines, the cities of Manila and Cebu are the test centers. The fee is quite expensive compared to the IELTS test. The exam content, scoring, and format are just the same so IELTS test takers do not have to worry. IELTS UKVI test takers are recommended to book the examination months ahead their target date of examination. Here is how to register for the IELTS UKVI.

Determine first what IELTS UKVI you have to take – the Academic or General Training module. Basically, the Academic is for those who are planning to study at undergraduate or postgraduate levels. This test is also for professionals who are seeking professional registration in the UK. On the other hand, the General Training is for those who are wishing to migrate in the UK and people who are planning to study on a below degree level.
Once you have determined your module, choose from the two test centers – Manila and Cebu.
Prepare all necessary documents for the registration.
- Valid IDs (passport, Professional Regulatory Commission ID, Social Security ID, Government Service Insurance System ID, or the Unified Multi-purpose ID.
- Scanned copy and photocopy of the ID
Complete the registration form.
Pay PhP 14, 835.

The registration is simple. You can do it online or submit the requirements to any registered IELTS review centers. Since the exam can be pretty challenging, here are some tips for the IELTS UKVI.

1. Register early. With the amount of time before the test, candidates can review and learn more about the UKVI.

2. Choose the city which is convenient. Since there are only two options, consider family members or friends living on those cities that you can stay with to save money especially those living in the provinces.

3. Read a lot. The test evaluates vocabulary skills. Having wide range of vocabulary helps a lot in all the sections of the examination.

4. Learn skimming and scanning.

5. Practice note taking. Make sure to have good listening skills to perfect the listening test.

6. Review grammar. It comes handy for both the speaking and writing test.

7. Watch IELTS videos online. These educational videos teach IELTS test takers what to expect in the exam and some strategies that can be used.

8. Find a speaking partner. This can help in getting used to speaking English and at the same time building confidence in using the English language.

9. Do practice tests. It is important to get an idea on how the test is done. There are hundreds of websites online to practice.

10. Review on an IELTS UKVI center. With coaches and mentors, building and honing skills are faster and much more appropriate for the test.

Taking the IELTS UKVI is as easy as the usual IELTS. What IELTS test takers have to bear in mind is that they need practice to be familiar with the test.

Who are taking the IELTS Academic Module Test?

“It has been four years since I worked as a nurse in the Philippines. Now, I am planning to work in Australia. It surprised me to see that I have to take the IELTS examination using its Academic Module. I am totally clueless about this. Are nurses the only profession who need the Academic Module of the IELTS?” –Ronald

Most health care professionals are asked to the IELTS or the International English Language Testing System examination when they apply for a working visa in English speaking countries like Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and the United States of America. The truth is that not only health care professionals are asked to take the IELTS. All non-native English speakers are asked to take this English proficiency examination since it is a major requirement. However, there is a special emphasis in taking the Academic Module for certain individuals. Who usually take the Academic Module of the IELTS?

First, there are individuals who wish to further their studies overseas. These people want to study at these universities at undergraduate programs or postgraduate level. Different schools may require a specific score in the IELTS depending on the department or the major one is applying for. Most of the time, overall band scores should be at least 7.0 with no scores lower than 7.0 in the speaking, listening, reading and writing. Further, there are these individuals who want to join a professional organization in an English-speaking country. These are those working professionals like nurses, engineers, accountants, veterinarians and other professions. Before they are able to work in the company they are applying for, they need to comply with this very important requirement.

It is important to any IELTS candidate to understand what their company or university requires – most especially with the scores. If the candidate is not successful in hitting the target score, it could put a halt in the processing of their visas. Hence, it is very necessary to review for the said examination.

In reviewing for the examination, the best thing to do is to enroll in IELTS review centers. These review centers have the helpful materials to boost the knowledge and fluency of their students. They have updates books used in class. Furthermore, the instructors are all skillful in training their students in the skills and techniques involved in reaching the target score. Moreover, they have speaking mock exams that are helpful in improving the student’s confidence in using the English language and with the comments after the test; the student realizes his or her mistakes and do better next time. In addition, there are weekly written mock exams to gauge the progress of the students in the class. A good number of individuals who have taken the IELTS Academic test recommend being in IELTS review centers. Most especially in the writing section of the exam, students are guided on how to come up with appropriate essays. Learning is fun and more effective with IELTS review centers.

There are lots of people who have already taken the IELTS that attending classes in IELTS review centers are effective and puts the candidate the advantage they need for the test. The secret in getting the score requirement in the IELTS is constant practice and coaching where candidates can only take advantage in IELTS review centers.

Pros and Cons of Online IELTS Review

The International English Language Testing System test is popular among Filipinos. Ask every single Filipino who applied or is still applying for work or student visas in Canada, New Zealand, Australia, and the United Kingdom; they will surely know something about the IELTS examination. I myself was introduced to the examination when I was applying for a student visa in Australia. I have always dreamt to enroll in a culinary arts school overseas. I studied here in the Philippines, but it seemed that I was still looking for more knowledge in the field I was interested in. I checked online for schools, got an invitation, and took the IELTS. I will not be sharing any success stories here. As a matter of fact, I was not able to hit my target score in the IELTS the first time I took it. For the record, I took the test three times. Anyway, the point here is that one factor that contributes a lot with one’s success in the IELTS test is the amount of review.

The first time I challenged the examination, I only did self-review. It was pretty difficult understanding materials from a review manual. I guess that is one big reason why I failed during the first take. When I took it the second time, I actually got my required score, yet I needed to take it again since I wanted to score better and I might need a higher score when I started applying for jobs. However this time, I tried two different kinds of review, the classroom setup and the online IELTS review.

Both IELTS review were very helpful to me. There was easier understanding and more practices given to me which helped me get familiar with the exam. I was surprised with the online IELTS review classes on how the class was done. I should say I was petty amazed. Since most people are asking about the online IELTS review course, let me list the pros and cons of an online IELTS review.

Pros

It is very convenient since you do not have to go out.
You basically need a good computer and an Internet connection for the class to work.
There are one hour or two hour classes. It is no draining since you can choose whether to have the class straight or attend on the next hour for you to have a break.
In a reading class, I was given one to two reading passages in class. The rationalization followed every after reading activity.
We had different listening exercises which includes dictation as well. It used a variety of English accents for better practice.
Speaking classes are not much of an embarrassment compared to when you are in a big group. I could give any crazy idea I had since it was only me and my teacher online.
Writing essays was so easy. My teacher was there to guide me through the writing process paying extra attention to my grammar and sentence construction.
I was able to practice well with speaking since my teacher spoke English in the class all the time.
Feedback and comments were ready every after class.
All of the teacher’s attention and focus was on me.

However, there are also some disadvantages to having online IELTS review.

Cons

Limited group interaction since you only have yourself and the teacher.
Ideas are solely yours and your teacher in class. There is no other input from other people of which might help solving questions on the speaking test.
Power interruptions were a huge problem.
Sometimes, there were glitches with the Internet connection. It was either my connection or the review center’s which disrupted some of my classes.
Having a timed reading was difficult since I was not able to see the timer running. I should have downloaded an online stopwatch for that matter.
Some files for the listening were too big that it took quite a time to be sent, consuming much of the class time.
I was not able to practice writing by hand since I had to send it to my teacher’s email. I was able to write some practices by hand but I had to have it scanned of which a scanner was not available at home.
It was quite awkward to have practice speaking facing the Internet. It was better to have mock exams facing the real interviewer.
When my teacher was absent, another had to cover which I found difficult to adjust since I already got accustomed to my instructor.
Classes can get boring especially when we were doing practices.

Though there are some drawbacks, an online IELTS review course is still very helpful in reviewing. The important is the undivided attention you are getting from the instructor. This review is highly recommended.
