Does Pronunciation Really Matter in the IELTS Exam?

Steps of the ECFVG Certification Program

Health care professionals are totally in demand overseas. Other than physical therapists and nurses, veterinarians are also needed in the United States. Like any other Filipino medical professionals wishing to practice their profession in the US, Filipino veterinarians have to acquire a certification before they can practice their profession. Thus, the ECFVG or the Educational Commission for Foreign Veterinary Graduates certification program has been initiated.

For Filipino vets, here are the steps in the ECFVG certification program:

STEP 1

Applicants have to complete an application form online and submit a payment of $ 1000. Payments can be made by credit card. Applicants must also submit the following requirements within a week to the ECFVG office: ·         A complete and notarized ECFVG confirmation page ·         2 passport-sized photos of the applicant ·         English translated diploma and transcripts of the applicant (certified, notarized, photocopied or official documents are accepted) ·         A $25 processing fee will be charged if applicants request to return their original or official diplomas and transcripts. All documents must be sent to ECFVG, American Veterinary Medical Association, 1931 N Meacham Road, Suite 100, Schaumburg, IL 60173-4360, USA.

STEP 2

Applicants have to provide their proof of English fluency. They should be able to understand and communicate in English to be accredited.  Filipino applicants can choose on the following examinations:        1.       Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL iBT) Applicants should get a score of at least 23 in the reading, 25 in the listening, 22 in speaking, and 22 in the writing. No minimum overall score requirement required. Original score reports should be addressed to ECFVG.        2.       International English Language Testing System (IELTS) exam An overall band score of 6.5 in the Academic module is needed with a minimum score of 6.5 in the listening, 6.0 in the writing, 7.0 in the speaking and no score requirement for the reading.

STEP 3

Applicants must now get a passing score on the computer-based examination. This examination is a multiple-choice type of test covering basic and clinical veterinary sciences knowledge.

STEP 4

Finally, candidates must attain a passing score on all sections of the Clinical Proficiency Examination. This exam will be administered by a faculty of a college of veterinary medicine or other authorized testing institution. Candidates are awarded their certificate when all four steps are completed.

1. IN

The preposition in can be used as a time preposition:

• parts  of the day

I am at the building. (You are not inside the building but around the area of the building)

4. Since – from a certain period of time

Examples:

I have been waiting for you since 3pm. I am so exhausted!

The students have been studying grammar since they were eight years old. 

5. For – over a period of time

Examples:

The man has been standing there for three hours. I wonder who he is waiting for.

I have had this car for 3 years. I cannot afford to buy a new one. 

6. Ago – a certain time in the past. This is usually used in the simple past tense.

Examples:

Three years ago, I lived in Berlin with my boyfriend.

She was here a few minutes ago.

7. By, Next to, Beside – when something or somebody is placed on the left or right side of something

Examples:

The old man is standing by the window waiting for her wife. 

She is sitting next to the kid who was killed yesterday. 

8. Under – on the ground or to show that something or someone is placed lower than something

Examples:

The bogeyman hides under the bed and terrifies children.

We saw a lot of fish under the sea. 

9. Above – to show that something is higher than something else

Examples:

Due to the thickness of the clouds, the plane flew above them. 

There is a small bridge above the lake. 

10. Across – to show getting to the other side or something or someone is on the other side

Examples:

A barber shop is located across the school.

The swimmers swam across the raging current of the river. 

11. Into – a movement from outside to inside

Examples:

The students went into the rooms holding their partners. 

We jumped into the pool wearing nothing. 

12. Onto – movement on top of something

Examples:

He placed his feet onto the table.

13. From – to show where someone or something is from

Examples:

14. From…to… - to show the start and end of time or place

What is 485 Visa? What is the Needed IELTS Module?

Just like the United States of America, the Australian government offers non-residents a lot of visa types that will suit the applicant’s eligibility. Filipinos have this dream in finishing school in Australia. This is not impossible as there are very good schools and universities in the said country. If you are someone who wants to study in Australia, visa 485 might be the right visa for you.

The Australian Visa 485 or the Temporary Graduate visa lets is holder to live, study, and work in Australia temporarily after finishing his her studies. People who can access this type of visa are those students who applied as a primary applicant. This visa has two streams: (1) Graduate work stream for international students with an eligible qualification who graduate with skills and qualifications to an occupation listed on the Skilled Occupation List (SOL), and (2) Post-Study work stream for international students who graduate with a higher education degree from an Australian education provider. Applicants for this visa should be in Australia upon application. Applicants must be currently holding visa subclass 572, 573 or 574 for eligibility to apply.
